Conclusion: Is it worth mounting your router on the wall?

I actually found that wall-mounting my router solved 2 problems: securing the router, and tidying up cables. Mounting the router on the wall forced me to do some able management and it has really made a difference to the spaghetti tangle of wires that I used to have behind my TV stand.

With the router now safely mounted on the wall I don’t have to worry about knocking it over or spilling anything on it, as it sits securely mounted to the wall. Wall mounting was quick and easy, and even though I have brick and mortar walls it was just a matter of drilling 2 small holes and plugging them and then partially screwing in 2 screws.

Measuring between the holes is important, because you don’t want to repeat the process if you accidentally drill the holes too close or too far away from one another. A spirit level is also a good idea if you want your router to sit as perfectly  straight as possible.
